----Speech transcript of the Shenzhen International Disinfection Conference on August 30, 2023
Huang Zhiming
After experiencing another round of overtime work and "fighting" day and night, more and more people have recently felt "lonely" and lamented that business is difficult to do. It needs to be known that from the sudden arrival of SARS twenty years ago, the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, and the recent COVID-19 epidemic, our industry has been indispensable, and our products have been snatched away from each other. Recently, we learned that the price of sodium chlorite, the main raw material of chlorine dioxide, which has been relatively stable, has also dropped to 10,500-12,000 yuan/ton.
The "China Chlorine Dioxide Alliance", which has a relatively large concentration of practitioners in the industry, debates most about "standards" and "pros and cons" (from what they think is the best technology to fakes, etc.), and the arguments are red-faced and even explosive. Swear words are common. So what do we lack and what do we need most? How to fundamentally change? I am trying to make a little analysis on this and discuss it with you for your reference.
The disinfection industry has always been inseparable from disasters and plagues, accompanying them and developing from them. We can think of it as a unique attribute of it.
Naturally, what we want to talk about here is from an industrial perspective, what do we need most? What is missing?
The main entrepreneurs and starters in the industry come from all directions; including: technical personnel from the scientific research departments of colleges and universities; medical and environmental practitioners (there are many environmental enthusiasts); chemical product agents; they follow the trend and are smart enough to do what they say. People wait. But there are very few backbones who are truly "born" in formal chemical companies. They are those who subconsciously put on safety helmets whenever they enter the production area. The threshold for starting the chlorine dioxide disinfection industry is low. With just a few beakers and constant tinkering, you might be able to come up with a good formula. Back then, with more than 100,000 yuan in capital, a recipe, and a rented venue, a grass-roots team had a "grand" opening. I know a young man who is now in his early fifties. He bargained for 100,000 yuan to buy a set of technology, and the seller also guaranteed to give him an order of the same amount... Now he is a truly leisurely and wealthy man worth tens of millions.
Our colleagues are more independent and independent than those working in other general industries, and chlorine dioxide is an interdisciplinary subject that is widely used. For example, the recent Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water leakage incident, which caused outrage across the country, involved the disposal of nuclear waste from nuclear power plants. A few months ago, I accidentally discovered that foreign media published a paper from Xiamen University on the use of chlorine dioxide to treat nuclear power plant waste with good results. When contacting the author failed, Professor Wei Mingken told me that the author was one of his early students. Naturally, this student's chlorine dioxide was learned from Professor Wei.
However, the problem lies in this "but". When all of us who have never been exposed to such a project, and have never even entered the gate of a nuclear power plant, listen to
