First, the principle of disinfection

(2) Method selection.

Environmental surfaces. Chlorine-containing disinfectants, chlorine dioxide, quaternary ammonium salts, peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide, potassium monopersulfate and other disinfectants can be wiped, sprayed or soaked for disinfection; Proven safe and effective physical disinfection methods and other harmless treatment methods can also be used.

Indoor air. You can choose peracetic acid, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen peroxide and other disinfectants for spray disinfection, or you can choose circulating air air sterilizer, ultraviolet rays or other safe and effective physical disinfection methods and harmless treatment methods.

3. Disinfection methods for common polluted objects

(1) Indoor air.

For the terminal disinfection of indoor air in places where you have lived in places such as homes and isolation wards of medical institutions, you can refer to the "Hospital Air Purification Management Code" (WS/T368-2012), and in the case of no one, you can choose 5000mg/L peracetic acid, 3% hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide (according to the product instructions) and other disinfectants, and disinfect them with ultra-low volume (aerosol) spray method according to 20mL/m³. Other disinfection methods that have been proven to be safe and effective can also be used.

(3) Floors and walls.

When there are visible contaminants, they should be completely removed before disinfection. When there are no visible contaminants, it can be wiped or sprayed with a chlorine-containing disinfectant with an effective chlorine of 1000mg/L or a chlorine dioxide disinfectant of 500mg/L; Floors and walls that are not corrosion-resistant can also be sprayed or wiped with a 2000mg/L quaternary ammonium disinfectant. The ground disinfection is sprayed once from the outside to the inside, and the spraying amount is 100mL/㎡~300mL/㎡, and after the indoor disinfection is completed, it is repeated once from the inside to the outside. The disinfection effect should be no less than 30 minutes.

(4) The surface of the object.

When there are visible contaminants on the surface of medical facilities and equipment, as well as bed fences, bedside tables, furniture, doorknobs, and household items, the contaminants should be completely removed before disinfection. When there are no visible pollutants, use a chlorine-containing disinfectant with 1000mg/L of effective chlorine or 500mg/L chlorine dioxide disinfectant, and the surface of an object that is not resistant to corrosion can also be sprayed, wiped or soaked with 2000mg/L quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant, and wiped clean with water after 30 minutes.

(10) Transportation and transshipment vehicles.

Pollution assessment should be carried out first: when there are visible pollutants in trains, automobiles and ships, a chlorine-containing disinfectant with effective chlorine 5000mg/L~10000mg/L (or disinfectant wipes/dry wipes that can achieve a high level of disinfection) should be used to completely remove the pollutants, and then sprayed or wiped with a chlorine-containing disinfectant with 1000mg/L of effective chlorine or 500mg/L chlorine dioxide disinfectant, and wiped clean with water after 30 minutes; When disinfecting the aircraft cabin, the type and dosage of disinfectants shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Civil Aviation of China.

Recommendations for chlorine dioxide disinfectants

1. In January 2020, the National Health Commission issued the "Notice on Printing and Distributing the Technical Guidelines for the Disinfection of Public Transportation", which states that chlorine dioxide disinfectant can be used for environmental disinfection of public transportation places.

2. In 2021, the "Guidelines for the Use of Commonly Used Disinfectants" will be formulated in the "Reply to Recommendation No. 2630 of the Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress", which will give detailed and clear explanations on the active ingredients, application scope, usage methods, and precautions of commonly used disinfectants such as alcohol disinfectants, chlorine-containing disinfectants, and chlorine dioxide disinfectants, and guide the public to use disinfectants reasonably and scientifically.

3. In June 2022, Annex 10 of the Notice on Printing and Distributing the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Prevention and Control Plan (Ninth Edition) stated that chlorine dioxide disinfectant can be used to disinfect surfaces, indoor air, floors, walls, transportation and transportation vehicles.

4. Chlorine dioxide disinfectant is internationally recognized as a highly effective disinfection and sterilization agent, which can kill all microorganisms, including bacterial propagules, bacterial spores, fungi, mycobacteria and viruses, etc., and will not produce drug resistance. At the same time, it has a strong adsorption and penetration ability to microbial cell wall, which can effectively oxidize sulfhydryl-containing enzymes in cells, and can also quickly inhibit the synthesis of microbial proteins to destroy microorganisms.
